Michelle Franco was born in the United States and spent her early childhood in Argentina, where she lived until the age of eight. After returning to the U.S. with her mother, she relearned English for a second time—an experience that shaped her adaptability and deepened her connection to communication across cultures. Throughout these transitions, one constant remained: art.
As Franco explored a wide range of artistic mediums, jewelry and metalsmithing stood out as the most impactful, leading her to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. Her curiosity and love of learning, however, did not stop there. She continued to explore new materials and approaches, developing the ability to adapt, problem-solve, and view the world from multiple perspectives.
This flexibility later became essential in her work as an educator. Franco earned her teaching license and has taught not only art, but also Spanish and environmental education. Her multidisciplinary background allows her to connect with students of all ages and learning styles, communicating through language, hands-on experiences, demonstrations, observation, and interaction until understanding is reached.
Today, education and art exist side by side in Franco’s practice. She continues to grow as an artist and educator, dedicated to serving others through art, nature, and meaningful human connection.
